Welcome
Welcome to our interactive, self-help site. If you or someone you care about has an eating disorder, such as compulsive overeating, morbid obesity, bulimia or anorexia, or if you are a professional treating people with eating disorders, our site offers resources you may find helpful.
If you have an eating disorder, we commend you on your decision to explore options for recovery. Living with an eating disorder is complex and challenging for you, your family and friends. Deciding on the best options for you can be daunting. Our intent is to provide you a private, members-only, easily understood site which encourages your self-acceptance, self-care and discovery of self.
Healthy Reflections offers tools to assist in your recovery. We recognize all eating disorders (compulsive overeating, bulimia, anorexia, etc.) involve the same underlying issues, the same painful feelings, the same difficult challenges to explore on our journey to wellness.
Food is not the issue.
Interactive, self-help site
Recovery brings gifts—the gift of self, a wonderful life, ongoing self-evolution, hope and energy for a healthy life. These gifts come through commitment to self-exploration and hard work. They come from actively participating in recovery instead of only reading about it. Recovery comes from unleashing your creativity and allowing it to flourish.
Healthy Reflections is an interactive site; it will challenge you by offering:
- Journal options
- Readings
- Written reflections
- Scrapbooking
- Creative collages
- Member sharing
- Weekly challenges
- Issue-based assignments
- And more
Our site promotes gathering knowledge about yourself, which you can share with your support group and/or therapist, or use in other ways on your recovery journey. (We do not collect or review homework assignments.)
Completing the assignments and challenges allows you to be more aware of your issues, behaviors, patterns, and thoughts. You can discover your own unique character and the paths which led you to disordered eating. The ultimate challenge is to know what we need to learn and accept from the path we've chosen. Then we journey onward to emotional, social, spiritual, physical and psychological well-being.“
