Welcome
We welcome you to our interactive, self-help site. If you or someone you care about has an eating disorder, such as compulsive overeating, morbid obesity, bulimia or anorexia, or if you are a professional treating people with eating disorders, our site offers a number of resources you may find helpful.
If you have an eating disorder, we commend you on your decision to explore the many available options for recovery. Living with an eating disorder is complex and can be scary for you and your family and friends. Deciding on the best options for you can be daunting. Our intent is to provide you a private, members-only, gentle, clearly understood site…a peaceful place that encourages your self-acceptance, self-care and discovery of self.
Whatever form or forms your disordered eating takes, Healthy Reflections offers tools to assist in your recovery. We have come to recognize all eating disorders (compulsive overeating, bulimia, anorexia, etc.) involve the same underlying issues, the same painful feelings, the same difficult challenges to address on our journey to wellness.
Food is not the issue.
Interactive, self-help site
We believe recovery brings many gifts—the gift of self, a wonderful life, ongoing self-evolution, hope and found energy for a healthy life. These gifts come through commitment to self-exploration and hard work. They come from actively pursuing recovery instead of just reading about it. They come from unleashing your creativity and allowing it to flourish.
Healthy Reflections is an interactive self-help site; it will challenge you with journal options, readings, written reflections, scrapbooking, creative collages and more. Our site is a tool for gathering knowledge about yourself, which you can then share with your support group and/or therapist, or use in other ways on your recovery journey. (We do not collect or review homework assignments.)
Completing the assignments and challenges will make you more aware of your issues, behaviors, patterns, and thoughts. You will discover your own unique character and the paths which led you to an eating disorder. The ultimate challenge for each of us is to discern what we need to learn and accept from the path we've chosen and then journey onward to emotional, social, spiritual, physical and psychological well-being.
We charge a membership fee to cover our costs of monitoring the site to keep it as non-triggering and safe as possible, responding to member feedback, and maintaining and updating Healthy Reflections on an ongoing basis. Eating disorders are expensive, financially and in terms of time, relationships, and well-being. We invite you to invest in your recovery by joining Healthy Reflections. Visit our Membership Benefits page to learn about membership benefits and costs.
Please understand Healthy Reflections is designed to support, not replace, face-to-face medical and mental health treatment. For your own safety and well-being, please consult your medical care provider before joining and during your membership in the Healthy Reflections community.
